The Rubidoux High School Concert Hall was brought to life through the vision and persistence of Jurupa Unified School District’s longtime superintendent, Elliott Duchon. Architects For Education (A4E) in Pasadena brought the project to life thanks to their relationship with the District, who invited them to design the project as part of a larger strategy to elevate arts education across the campus. According to A4E, having Mr. Duchon’s backing made it all possible: “[his] passion for music, community pride, and student opportunity helped this project gain momentum, even in the absence of early community input or bond funding.”

Throughout this beautiful Los Angeles private residence, concrete block is the backbone for creative structural support – both outside and inside the home. Set on a sloped hill, CMU actively sweeps across both the lower and upper levels of the property, serving as your guide from the garage to the top level.
